Design research is today one of the fundamental topics of discussion in the various academic, business and social fields. The basic motivation is to advance the generation of new knowledge, methodologies and processes, product/service proposals with greater added value and the improvement of the quality of life in society. In this sense, different levels of research are distinguished such as, academic research on the different design disciplines that generate new knowledge and research carried out within an exploratory framework throughout a design project.

The objective of the Design Faktoria 2019 is to show how research plays an important role in the different disciplines related to the field of design. During the day various investigations related to social, inclusive, patient experiences in bio-sanitary environments and service design will be discussed.
