Business organisations are facing an uncertain future in which there are signs of local and global challenges, radical and fast technological and not-so technological changes, environmental threats, etc.
This edition of the Industries&Design conference focuses on the 'design-driven' concept to find out how leading national and international organisations —Telefónica, BBVA and D2i Design to innovate (design cluster from the south of Denmark)— address these challenges, how they incorporate the user into their innovation strategies, what future scenarios they envisage and how they are preparing.

Product head at Movistar Home, he has spent over a decade working at Telefónica expanding his experience in fields such as big data and AI, with roles as Head of User Experience and Research and Product Manager. He is also a trainer on Product Management, Innovation and User Experience programmes.
He holds a degree in design and a PhD from the Universidad Alfonso X and is currently in charge of the designer practice community and design strategy at BBVA. He began his career developing visual communication and design projects in companies and institutions. From his position as a designer he became involved in projects involving design as a strategic function. Throughout his career he has paid special attention to promoting and publicising design. As a teacher, he has given lectures and talks at centres such as IE, IESE, SCAD, ESNE, IED, UAX, BAU, etc.
Mrs Aase Højlund NIELSEN holds a MA in History and Archeology (Universities of Copenhagen and Aarhus, Denmark) and is about finishing a MSc in Systems Thinking in Practice (Open University, UK). During the last 10 years, she has been working with design and creativity in a European context, among other things responsible for EU Design Days and co-lead for the working group on design and creativity within ERRIN, European Regions Research and Innovation Network in Brussels. In January 2018, she took up a position as Head of Development at D2i – Design to innovation, a design cluster located in the southern part of Denmark. D2i benefits from a strong and long-lasting eco-system of design knowledge and capacities, and as Head of Development, Aase Højlund Nielsen is responsible for supporting the CEO in strategy development and for the inclusion of design departments at University of Southern Denmark, Design School Kolding and Kolding Municipality on matters regarding the ecosystem on design. Further, she is responsible for identifying and developing new projects and collaboration activities involving enterprises within the vicinity of the design cluster.
